Told through the medium of stop motion, two characters, cocooned in their love, go on a heart breaking journey of self discovery. The richly textured world, made from soft cloud like fabrics, is a deceptively innocent space for the raw pain of the the lovers as they fight tooth and nail to hold on to what they once had. Their woven faces are kissed, knotted, ripped and torn in equal measure, ever-weathering in the harsh reality of love. It's a love story, but not like you've seen before. No FX, just shooting with inks & paintings. "The Other Side" is an experimental dreamlike video rocking. The visual compositions have been created out of paint, oil, inks and soap. The Other Side is an idyllic way to get in the eyes. The retinas of the eyes tear and we circulate in the optic nerves to see all the exchanges of information that occur when we contemplate the world. All videos were filmed in 8K with the RED Helium camera. The editing of the video is in 4K. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Music by Alexis Dehimi https://ift.tt/2LmBGIo Co produced by Ekitaimacro // Thomas Blanchard Greenlight Films // Paul Mignot and Léa Morel Thomas blanchard https://ift.tt/sZ3rHt Thank you to all those people who lent me their eyes: Emilie Grange Catherine Igonenc-Buczek Jean-Yves Igonenc Mathieu Chavagnat Elisabeth Serrano Laëtitia Riusciti Stephan Blanchard

LIVE FAST, DRAW YUNG by DALLAS

LIVE FAST, DRAW YUNG by DALLAS

https://ift.tt/2sZImV7

The story of Yung Lenox: Rap's most prolific (7-year-old) portraitist. Described by LA Weekly as the 'Foremost Doodler of Rap', this hilariously endearing film follows Seattle's 7-year-old rap portraitist, Yung Lenox, and his Dad, Skip - an unconventional artistic duo simultaneously navigating the tumultuous worlds of rap and modern-day-parenting. Through Lenox's eyes, ears and encounters with rappers such as Kool Keith and Cam'ron, the film presents an innocent entry point into the idolized and often explicit world of hip hop. It reconsiders the age-old parental advisory debate and the realities of a kid growing up in an adult world. As Skip confronts criticism about his intentions and parenting, Lenox remains unfazed. In his world, art is 'medium important' compared to school, Lego's and Minecraft. And that's why the kid is everyone's favorite artist. Directed by Stacey Lee & Anthony Mathile DP: Jacob Rosen Producer: Stacey Lee Associate Producers: Corbett Jones, Anna Rau, Jacob Rosen, Marina Cukeric Additional Camera: Frank Mobilio Editor: Anthony Mathile, Matthew Charof Supervising Editor: Joe Peeler Music Composition: Aaron Stein-Chester Audio Post Production: One Thousand Birds Sound Editing / Mixing: Andrew Tracy, Calvin Hunting Pia Colorist: Matt Conrad Stills Photography: Brook Fetch, Jordan Nicholson, Skip Class Title Design: Nicci Martinez, Hannah Souter Poster Design: Jon Santos Special Thanks: Carmody Brothers, Spencer Breen, Erik Perry, British Young, Lee Gibson, Karie Higgins, Andrew Gurguis, From the Range Films Starring: Yung Lenox, Skip Buringrad, Megan Bingham, Cam'ron & Kool Keith

When the sun goes down, terrestrial activity slows down, cools off, and falls asleep. The stars appear in the deep black sky and the short cycles of terrestrial life give way to cosmic eternities. That is the moment chosen by a tiny soul to leave the Earth. * Audience Award — PIAFF 2018 * Sapporo Breweries Award — New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival 2018

Every Christmas we do something a bit unique that represents and challenges our studio's diverse styles and skills. This time we have turned to our new dedicated 2D animation studio who have created something very special. The first 2D #BZshorts film is directed by People and Talent Coordinator, Katie Gascoyne. Our commitment to pioneering new talent and giving opportunities to ALL staff is at the heart of the shorts program. This year, there was a blind pitch where the whole company was invited to pitch an idea for the music video to Scouting for Girl’s Christmas single. Specifically, the brief asked for an “odd couple.” Katie won the blind pitch with a heart-warming pairing between Dan, a living gingerbread man, and his human girlfriend, Mandy. FULL MOON - Night Skiing Without Artificial Light by El Flamingo Films

FULL MOON - Night Skiing Without Artificial Light by El Flamingo Films

https://ift.tt/2Mro7ql

Night skiing without artificial light: Closing lift stations and the setting sun mark the end of the action for most skiers. Not for Max Kroneck and Jochen Mesle. While ski towns fall asleep they head into the mountains and see them awaking in a new light. The snow starts glistening again. It ́s just the sound of their skis turning in fresh snow that breaks the silence of the full moon night. "Some of you might have been on a full moon ski tour before. It ́s a really special vibe which is hard to describe when you haven ́t experienced it by yourself. With this movie we wanted to capture that feeling of being out there skiing in a clear full moon night. There is not much that distracts you from the pure beauty of the mountains." - Jochen Mesle Of course backcountry skiing at night is a challenge, but to shoot it without any artificial light at all was a different story. The team spent nine intense nights shooting and ski touring in the Austrian alps in winter 2019 to create this film. A small group of people goes into the woods with a chain saw. That's how it begins. It ends with the death of a tree—felled, illegally, by poachers. The United States Forest Service estimates that as many as one in 10 trees cut in the national forests is poached. In a new animated video, The Atlantic contributing writer Lyndsie Bourgon reveals the surprising reason tree-poaching is on the rise.

Making of: https://ift.tt/2sxS94K ‘RED’ is the horny tale of Rudolph as you’ve never seen him before.   Once a legend, hero, and leader of the pack, he now lives alone in a trailer on the outskirts of the North Pole. After watching a documentary charting his fall from grace, a fired up Red decides to make the ultimate comeback and reclaim his spot as the King of Deers. Cue a ‘Rocky’ style montage and heaps of deer gags as we witness the sheer power and determination of the world’s most famous reindeer. FLOW STATE | Russell Bierke by O'Neill Australia

FLOW STATE | Russell Bierke by O'Neill Australia

https://ift.tt/2PmZ1L3

‘Bezerke’, Russell’s last major edit in 2016, signified his second rising after taking the crown at Cape Fear and showcasing his intent on riding whatever mass of ocean came his way. Fast forward 3 years, Russ has been throwing himself into some overwhelmingly big caverns. Not only riding them, but confidently exposing unseen technical lines and approaches to waves of consequence. Calls of the greatest wave ever paddled into at Shipsterns have been aired, but lets not forget this is surfing. How anyone perceives a ride may be different to the next person. And to be frank, who gives a rats backside. It’s a peak moment in time for a peak individual. Arriving at the right place, right time and simply, not choking. Flow State will take you an audio visual journey, as Russ pushes his own boundaries. Along the way, he gives us insight, into what makes him tick and how the hell his feet stay glued to his board in the most critical of situations. Directed + Produced: Andrew Kaineder (https://ift.tt/2LWJ4JD) Original Score: The M1 (https://ift.tt/2qSwX91)

CYKLE | A Collection Of Short Stories by Fabian Aerts

CYKLE | A Collection Of Short Stories by Fabian Aerts

https://ift.tt/33Cs81a

This is a serie of experiments i made and posted a few months ago on Instagram. Some short extracts were also in my latest showreel but as they generated a lot of positive feedbacks. i thought they deserved their own full length edit. This serie has been made around the idea that nature is able to generate new organic forms and patterns which are not regulated by our physical world. The goal behind that was also to push myself to learn some new animation techniques, texturing workflows, photographic compositions and environment lightning. But to make it really immersive, the soundtrack was crucial, so i contacted 2 very talented audio artists. Jérôme Chassagnard and Jeremie Mathes from who i knew the work since a very long time (AB Ovo period) and they joined me on board. One of their music track was perfectly creating the mood i was searching for. So i made a quick edit of the sequences, put their track on it and sent it to them. The response was immediate: they loved the film and they were really excited to collaborate on the project. I’m so grateful they accepted it as we found a lot of similarities in our mutual work so there’s a good chance we’ll do this again in the near future.

DarkAge2.0 by Chris Cousins

DarkAge2.0 by Chris Cousins

https://ift.tt/2P3Rm3d

The Dark Age 2.0 Our literature pay-walled. Our photography watermarked. Music and art is infected with DRM. Subscription software, regionalised encryption. Intellectual property traded as a commodity. Ownerships can be bought, copyrights sold. A culture submerged by a wash of commercialism, in danger of being swept away in the flood. So I imagined a museum of the future, looking back at our century, marveling at what we'd produced. Our legacy - encrypted books, unplayable albums, imagery lumbered with usage rights, artistic statements traded as investment opportunities. And our main output - data - rendered unreadable. Truly a second dark age. --- Cinema4D, Houdini. Rendered in RedShift, colour & post production in AfterEffects. More info here: https://ift.tt/2ssshXL --- Soundtrack assembled in Garageband using Audiokit Synth One and Sunriser (iPad).
