FENCE by Lendita Zeqiraj
FENCE by Lendita Zeqiraj
http://bit.ly/2RrGxqG
Several women from different generations of the same family loudly confront each other with their views on life, love, desire, and the patriarchy. The family gathering turns into chaos while the youngest one – the only boy – looks for an escape. "Fence" is this week's Staff Pick Premiere! Read more about it here: http://bit.ly/2Wu7IoI This is a very simple story, yet it reveals many complexities of our society, identifying them through characters’ way of communication, struggling to filter and convey their experiences and beliefs. 'FENCE' is not about the customs or the traditions; they are there and they are present on screen, but they are not the issue. The issues are within the characters, their relationships, and the drama. In that sense, it doesn’t matter where they come from, because being a daughter, mother, wife, or any part of a family dynamic is a universal topic that happens everywhere, to everyone.

New Year's Experiment by Bee Grandinetti

My husband has been fascinated (possibly slightly obsessed) about drawing machines for a while now, and he recently figured out a way to do this lil' hack on his 3D printer and repurpose it to make it draw with normal pens. He was testing it with some Moebius drawings and I thought the result was so awesome! It had a very human quality to it, filled with flaws, line variations and stuff :) And so many endless cool explorations one can do with different tools and surfaces to print on! Anyway, we thought it would be fun to do a (very homemade) animated experiment together, printing 24 frames and giving them to friends as a New Year's card. Happy 2019, everyone! ____________ Design and animation - Bee Grandinetti Printing - Murilo Polese

Convinced he's on a secret mission for Stalin, Gideon tries to purchase some crackers for the Russian dictator at his local supermarket. Anthologie by baron lanteigne
Anthologie by baron lanteigne
http://bit.ly/2sK8BM9
Our hyper-reality allows for all knowledge to be within reach and in this setting we function with ease at the cost of being saturated - computers as extensions of ourselves. Anthologie is an over-saturated patchwork of connected worlds depicting our relation with the virtual one through the digital screens surrounding us. Here, the LCD is glorified as a portal, pulling the viewer across surrealistic and abstract dimensions revealing the medium of this VR experience: the pixel. Aesthetically inspired by both today’s render culture and the early years of computer graphics, the immaterial compositions of Baron Lanteigne are organized with maniacal precision to the maximalist song Midnight Special by Bobby Tank. It began as an experimental glitch art project with a strong focus on pixel manipulations. The title, Anthologie, emerged as I was collecting virtual worlds created over the last couple years which ended up embedded in this seamless trip. The resulting retro-futuristic animation takes on a dual nature. It can be consumed as a virtual reality or immersive projection. Visuals: Baron Lanteigne - http://bit.ly/2r75Z95 Music: Bobby Tank - http://bit.ly/QwCshG Curated by Not Like That - http://bit.ly/2W7WEgR 2018 - 2019

Like many veterans, US Marine Roman Baca wasn’t the same when he returned home from war. He served two tours in Iraq during the notorious First and Second Battles of Fallujah. His experience ravaged him with depression, anxiety, and anger issues. With the encouragement of his wife, Lisa, Roman decided to return to his formal dance training as way to cope. He found that dance helped him “reprogram” his mind and body. This led Roman to start Exit12—a New York based dance company that tells stories of war through dance and choreography. Exit12 also hosts workshops that give veterans and military families a way to confront the effects of war and share their experience. “Exit 12" is this week's Staff Pick Premiere! Shrooms is a research project in working with artificial growth algorithms for image creation. How does the use of semi-supervised algorithms inform our creative language? Where do the two worlds blend and create new digital aesthetics? The sound – also designed by the Ai and us – was conceived similarly, we fed basic parameters to a sequencer from today and programmed 30-year-old machines to give us the results. All packed with love!

While imagining this film, there were 2 main things we wanted to explore with Eddy. The first one was the concept of being trapped. It was definitely related to our society today: almost everyone is trapped behind his screen, addicted. We are all stuck with our smartphone, social medias, our own virtual life. I’ve loved exploring it: how your way of seeing things changes according to your environment… And this huge, immaculate, radiant screen attracts and blocks Eddy at the same time. The other one came from Eddy, telling me how he sometimes loves elaborating different characters when he’s behind his phone. How he feels like having multiple personalities, making himself up. It was then pretty cool to combine these two ideas and think about how honest we are behind those screens, those masks? “Je me mens” “I’m lying to myself”. Directed by Thibaut Grevet DOP: Matthew Ballard 1st DA: Valentin Semko Production Designer: Renaud Deschamps Choreographer: Malika Djardi Label: INITIAL ARTIST SERVICES | Flavie Jaubert Produced by Frenzy Paris Producer: Manon De Buck⎜Elsa Rakotoson Line producer: Anthony Saoudi Family CREW Executive production: Nikita Bukowski Line producer: Daria Zakharova Stunt Coordinator: Alexandr Zhmutskiy Production Manager: Galina Merzlenko Production Assistant: Viktor Pomin Production designer: Natasha Makhovska Wardrobe stylist UA: Stas Ralko Editing by: Tianès Montasser, Maxime Pozzi Garcia Post-production: SAINT LOUIS VFX supervisors: Michaël Arasco, Yves Bosson Visual Effects by: Johann Roche, Fabrice Sese, Gaetan Bailleul, Titouan Harel, Camille Marc, Mathieu Betard, Benoit Messager @Reepost SAINT LOUIS Producer: Louis Arcelin, Jean-Marc Raygade, Yves Bosson Colorist: Sylvain Canaux

Mamá Húngara presents it´s latest music video of widely acclaimed producer and composer Agoria (aka Sébastien Devaud). The film was shot in 35mm in the exotic landscape of Calingasta, San Juan, Argentina. DIRECTOR´S STATEMENT- Hernán Corera- “Nobody is alone, even in the unknown country of death. Life never goes away. Memory, fraternity and hope are the doors that connect the territories of mystery.” says Hernan Corera. “That is why I wanted to tell the farewell of a leader, a journey under the halo of a magical ritual. The myth as the rite, is always the same. A man is all men. The duality of good and evil coexist within our spirit and is strengthened depending on the glass with which you look, that's why this story and its characters really unfold depending on who sees it, our characters rule realms to explore. So whoever sees love at the same time can see another betrayal. Who sees death can also see birth.” Produced by Mamá Húngara, When We Were Kids & Sapiens Directors: Hernán Corera, Walter Cornas & Juan Cavia Executive Producer Argentina: Juan Saravia & Natalí Sussman Executive Producers France: Ahlem Roubine & Jérôme Benadiner DoP: Mariano Monti Art Director: Walter Cornas & Juan Cavia Post-Production Superviser: Aldo Ferrari Lab: Kodak Atlanta Scanning 4k: Cinecolor Argentina Sound Mix: Mateo Yaya Cast Leader: Nicolas Haiti Her: Sofía Efron Hero: Dante Klomp Gang 1: Jose Pasini Gang 2: Bruno Palero Gang 3: Nefatali Villalba Gang 4: Gabriel Casas Gang 5: Cristian Dellarolle Gang 6: Matias Mila Gang 7: Mariela Baños Gang 8: Denis Sanchez Gang 9: Brunela Boriosi Gang 10: Amalia Mazzarello Gaucho: Alexis Nicolas Ayala Gaucho 2: Sofía Pizarro Gaucho 3: Zaira Pasten Gaucho 4: Erwin Astrudillo Gaucho 5: Lucas Jofre Gaucho 6: Guillermo Estopa Gaucho 7: Santiago Herrara Gaucho 8: Hector Jofre Special thanks to Alfavisión, argentinacine and Calingasta town for all their help & support. A man on the side of a road declares he wants to take a "break" from civilization. He then slides among the cars and finally finds himself in the open sea. "Wrong Path" is a performance shot in accelerated rate (time-lapse) in which the rising tide takes on the appearance of rising waters. It was shot on the « passage du Gois », a floodable road between the island of Noirmoutier and the continent.

A portrait of the sculptor, Dony Mac Manus, who has rejected much of contemporary art in favor of a return to the ideals of the renaissance. — shortoftheweek.com/2018/11/13/in-the-space-between-ages/ tv.booooooom.com/2018/11/19/profile-in-the-space-between-ages — Dony Mac Manus is a sculptor and painter in Dublin, Ireland. In his working methods he has rejected much of contemporary art and chosen to work with tools and processes used throughout the renaissance in Europe. To me what was most fascinating about Dony were a set of questions he seemed to pose about our experience of time and our sense of place in it. How do we navigate the past, tradition, and form our identity in the present in response to these forces? These were the ideas I wanted to explore in this film. — Creative Agency: Animal Garden Directed by Travis Lee Ratcliff Executive Producer: Brad Fassbender Produced by Travis Lee Ratcliff & John Carmichael IV Associate Producer: Andrew Natali Cinematography John Carmichel IV Editing & Sound Design: Travis Lee Ratcliff Additional Mixing: Matteo Digiulo Music by Gavin Brivik Colorist: Brandon Thomas, TBD Post 1st AC, Gaffer: Emily Brown Production Assistant: Logan Rabe Artist's Model: Logan Rabe Special Thanks: Brad & Teresa Fassbender, Andrew Natali, Dony Mac Manus, Kathryn Bailey, Emily Brown, Logan Rabe, Kami Garcia, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin, The Natural History Museum of Ireland, The Doughtery Arts Center Filmed on the Varicam LT with Cooke S4 lenses — Made possible by Guadalupe Roastery (guadaluperoastery.com) Filmed on Location in Dublin, Ireland Instagram.com/travisleeratcliff | http://bit.ly/2TOq3uk http://bit.ly/2Dbiicx | http://bit.ly/2TUoUl9 Contact: travis.lee.ratcliff@gmail.com Press Kit: http://bit.ly/2DcWSMh

Have you ever had a recurring nightmare? Up-and-coming band Easy Life go on a trip through a hospital where nothing is *quite* right. A gaping head wound is just the tip of this peculiar iceberg, as lead singer Murray perpetually glides through the corridors of an institution where the doctors, with cameos from Jamie Demetriou and Arnab Chanda, seemingly have no qualms about putting out cigarettes on their patients. We really hope this isn't what the NHS is coming to.
